Dan Durango is a rising singer-songwriter project within the Colombian alternative music scene. With a deeply intimate and profound sonic proposal, the artist faced a challenge common among emerging musicians: establishing an artistic project perceived with the same professional level and maturity that his music already possessed.
Dan Durango came to Epigrama Studios needing to build his visual universe from scratch, looking for a creative ally to structure solid visual guidelines that would define the art direction for his upcoming musical releases.
The main challenge lay in turning the branding of a music project into a co-created space to explore the artist's poetic potential, without losing a commercial appeal capable of engaging effectively with digital-native audiences. At Epigrama, we identified an opportunity to design a versatile and scalable identity that would not only stand out on highly competitive streaming platforms (Spotify covers, Apple Music banners, thumbnails, and Canvas) but also unify his narrative across social media, promotional materials, and electronic press kits (EPK)—ensuring the audience connected instantly with the musician’s proposal.
We supported the visual birth of Dan Durango through a comprehensive strategy that merged identity design, photographic production, and cinematic audiovisual storytelling:
Music Video Creation & Production: We led the filmmaking of Dan Durango's first official music video, translating his sonic proposal into an immersive audiovisual experience. We conceived this production under a documentary-portrait approach, capturing the artist's most honest essence as he navigates the vicissitudes, diverse locations, and unpredictable climate shift—from radiant sunshine to heavy rain—of a full day in Bogotá. We achieved an atmospheric, organic piece that connects the city's geography with the musician's inner world.
The first step to positioning Dan Durango in the alternative scene was to analyze and extract the essence of his lyrics and compositions. Through co-creation sessions, we defined a visual universe where typography and symbols act as a reflection of his musical maturity. We developed an identity manual that serves as a strategic tool for the artist and his team to manage their image with total consistency, laying the groundwork for album artwork, posters, and physical merchandise.
We designed a versatile photographic production framework on the ground to optimize resources and capture multiple facets of the artist in a single day. By playing with lighting, styling, and a curated selection of specific locations, we created a high-quality visual archive. Each photograph was meticulously planned to correspond to the tone and mood of his upcoming releases, ensuring that every single on digital platforms features a cover with its own cinematic strength.

We optimized the artist's digital environment to establish it as his primary corporate presentation for playlist curators, press, and festival bookers. We adapted the identity to today's dynamic formats, creating animated artwork (Spotify Canvas), optimized banners for Apple Music, and social media templates that elevate the perception of the artistic brand—transforming casual listeners into a loyal community.
The production of the official music video moved away from traditional pop music tropes to embrace a documentary-portrait approach and analog cinema aesthetic. By integrating the raw, unpredictable beauty of Bogotá—filming the actual transition from sunshine to capital rain—we achieved an honest and immersive audiovisual piece. The urban environment became another character that amplifies the melancholy and power of the artist's songs, giving the release a differentiating artistic value within the industry.
